Recent Work

Representing a client who had been charged with home invasion and assault. The police had significant circumstantial evidence that they relied on including:
  • Police found his fingerprints on the tape that was used to bind the victim’s hands and mouth;
  • the client had rolls of the same tape at his house;
  • the client had a baseball bat and tin snips at his house, all of which had been allegedly used during the commission of the offence.
David worked with the client who remained in custody due to the state of the evidence. He also working with his parents and friends to obtain crucial telephone records and witness evidence that proved that his client could not have been at the scene of the crime. David was then successful in his application for bail. The jury who heard the case delivered a finding of not guilty after deliberating for 15 minutes at the conclusion of a 4 day trial.

Representing a client who had been charged with a second low range drink driving offence. David persuaded the court not to convict him due to his need for a licence as the client was a crucial member of a health support team during COVID 19.

Representing a client at a family law property settlement hearing where the judge found in favour of his client and awarded costs. David had advised his client to file an offer to settle which was not accepted by the other party.

Negotiating with Police to have 3 criminal charges against a client withdrawn. The client’s job required that he did not have any criminal convictions. The result was that the client retained his employment and his clear record.
